Mervine, a brother of Attorney Nicholas P. Mervine, of 1115 Twelfth avenue, and a former resident of this city, died at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at his home at South Amboy, N.J., of influenza. Deceased was the son of Nicholas J. and Jane Paris Mervine, deceased, and late of this city, was born at Reading and was aged 64 years. He entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company in this city some forty years ago and won promotion until he was named as motive power clerk of the New York division, with an office in New York city. He was a member of the South Amboy Episcopal church, was highly esteemed in that community and had a number of friends in this city. He is survived by his wife and one son, Arthur, of South Amboy. Besides his brother in this city, he is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Sarah Fowler, of 1211 Seventh avenue. Interment will be made at South Amboy on Wednesday.
