Mrs. Isaac Metzgar, an aged and well-known lady who lived about one and one-half miles east of town, died yesterday, at 11 o'clock, A.M., from pneumonia. The funeral will take place from her late residence at 10 o'clock this (Saturday) morning. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, February 28, 1880 IN MEMORIAM. Mrs. Anna Metzgar (maiden name Santz) was born near the city of Altoona in 1814, and died near Martinsburg, Blair county, Pa., February 26th, 1880. Grandmother Metzgar was well and favorably known throughout the Cove. For many years she was a member of the "Dunker" church and the sincerity of her profession was well attested by a corresponding Christian life. She possessed a kind, amiable, loving disposition. Her kindness of heart won for her the esteem of all who knew her, and many who have enjoyed the generous hospitalities of her home in days gone by will remember her with interest and affection.
