MILLER Passed Away On Sunday Evening at Home On Twelfth Street. On Sunday evening at 9:35 o'clock, the life of Alonza K. Miller, of East Twelfth street, passed peacefully into the eternal world. Mr. Miller had been in failing health for a number of years, but only became seriously ill about four weeks ago, with a complication of diseases. Sunday evening he sat on the front porch and conversed with members of the family. Feeling ill he went into the house and in a short time fell into eternal sleep. Mr. Miller was a great home man, and it is there that he will be wonderfully missed. He was a kind, loving husband and father and an excellent neighbor and citizen. Alonza E. Miller was a son of William (deceased) and Mary Jane (Sneath) Miller. He was born at Skelp, Sinking valley, November 10, 1851. When a boy he moved with his parents to Bellwood where for many years was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company. Fifteen years ago, Mr. Miller and his family moved to Tyrone where he has resided ever since. August 22, 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Katharine B. Miller, who with the following children survive to mourn a loving husband and father's death. Charles K., of Des Monies, Iowa; Arthur G., Fred A., Reed T., all of Tyrone; Mrs. Charles Parker, Miss Margaret Miller, Altoona; Mrs. W. L. Barr, Mrs. P. L. Denny, Tyrone. He is also survived by his aged mother and the following brothers and sisters: James, Harry and Robert, of Bellwood; Edward, Juniata; Mrs. Howard Estep, Bellwood; Mrs. Samuel Long and Mrs. John Hutchinson, Juniata. Private funeral services were held at the home on East Twelfth street on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. G. Sawyer, pastor of the United Brethren church. The body was taken on a special car to Bellwood, where interment will be made. Tyrone Herald, Tyrone, Pa., July 29, 1915
