All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ Altoona Mirror Monday, Nov 10, 1930 David Grant Miller superintendent of the Tyrone Lime and Stone company and a resident of Tyrone for the past 40 years, died at his home at Nealmont Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, death being attributed to heart trouble following an illness of one week. Mr. Miller was born at Hill Valley, near Mount Union Huntingdon county, March 17, 1864, the son of Isaac and Roseanna Snyder Miller. He was twice married, the first union being with Miss Ella Bell Hunter on October 16, 1889. Following her death he was united in marriage a second time with Miss Anna Noll of Camden N. J. on June 28, 1907. Mrs. Miller survives with the following children: J. Edward Miller and E. Guy Miller of Tyrone, Mrs. Lena McCord, Mrs. Nora Graffius, both of State College, Mrs. Emma Steele of Huntingdon, Mrs. Edith Walters of Tucson, Ariz., D. Glenn Miller of Boston Mass, and these to the second union: Miss Myra Miller, a teacher in the Tyrone schools, Misses Doris and Phillis Miller of Altoona and Robert, Elizabeth and Allen Miller at home. One sister, Mrs. S B. Anstagg(sp?)also survives. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Tyrone. Mr. Miller was superintendent of the Tyrone Lime and Stone company for many years and came to Tyrone forty years ago from Huntingdon county. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of his pastor, Rev. Joseph A. Speer, D.D. Interment will be made in the Grandview cemetery.
