E. Guy Miller, Sr.

  E. Guy Miller, of 521 West Fifteenth St., Tyrone, died unexpectedly 
at his late home at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 1965.
  He was born November 18, 1891 at Hastings, a son of David G. and Ella 
B. (Hunter) Miller.  He was married on September 5, 1913, at Arch 
Spring to Jennie Mallory.
  His wife survives along with two children:  Mrs. Marjorie Hazzard and 
E. Guy Miller, Jr. and one grandson, Howard Miller, all of Tyrone.  
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters:  Mrs. J. E. 
McCord and Mrs. Nora Graffius, both of State College.  Mrs. Emma Steele 
of Huntingdon and David G. Miller of Tyrone. 
  Mr. Miller had served the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone as an 
elder for more than 20 years.  He was a member of the Men's Bible Class 
and also taught Sunday School class.  He retired from the Pennsylvania 
Railroad as a foreman in the East Altoona Shops in 1957 after 44 years 
of service.
  Funeral services were held today at 3:30 p.m. from the Graham and 
Getz funeral home in Tyrone.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Miller of Mt. 
Union.
