Miller, the 2 1/2-year-old son of Rev. J. W. Miller, pastor of the Church of God, met with a very serious accident about 10 o'clock Saturday morning at his parents' residence, Fifth avenue and Thirteenth street. Mrs. Miller had a bucket of boiling-hot water standing at the door of the basement of the house which was intended for up-stairs cleaning purposes. The little fellow walked down stairs and passed the bucket, not observing it, and on stepping backward he slipped and fell into the scalding water, being badly burned from the middle of his body to the calves of his legs. The skin all peeled off the portion of his body that was scalded, and for a time he suffered excruciating pain. Dr. S. M. Ross was called and applied the usual remedies to alleviate the pain and suffering in such cases, which had the effect to greatly soothe and ease the little fellow.
