"Pete" Miller, of Tyrone RD 3, Baughman Hollow, died Thursday at 12:30 a.m. at Tyrone Hospital after a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1898, in Snyder Township, a son of F. Thomas and Mary (Baumbarger) Miller. He was married in 1949, at Tyrone, to Violet V. Black. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Surviving are the widow, the following sons and daughter: Robert, Tyrone; Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Sponsler, of California; and Dr. James Miller, of Lutherville, Maryland; the following step-children: Melvin Renney, Altoona; Mrs. Daniel (Shirley) Apgar, of Bald Eagle; Kenneth Renney, of Juniata; Mrs. Ronald (Larue) Moore, of Tyrone; two sisters, Mrs. Boyd (Minnie) Newman, Tyrone; Mrs. Port (Maude) Williams, of Tyrone; also five grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and a step great grandchild. He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad Company employee. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Tyrone. Burial will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood, Pa. Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., November 26, 1976, page 2
