Helen Jane Miller 

  Helen Jane Miller, 86, formerly of Tyrone, PA, and residing in 
Cumberland, MD, died on Friday, September 7, 2007, at the home of her 
granddaughter, Beth Banks.
  Born November 16, 1920, in Tyrone, PA, she was the daughter of the 
late Clark Ginter and Ruth (Edmondson) Ginter. Mrs. Miller was also 
preceded in death by her husband, E. Guy Miller; and an infant 
daughter, Ruth Ann.
  Retired from the Tyrone School District where she spent many years as 
an elementary and junior high school teacher, Mrs. Miller was a member 
of the Wesleyan United Methodist Church in Tyrone, PA, and past 
president of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge 
player. 
  Mrs. Miller is survived by her son, Howard A. Miller and his wife, 
Carole, Frankford, DE; her grandchildren, Kristina Miller, Bradenton, 
FL; Scott A. Miller and his wife, Leslie; and Beth A. Banks and her 
husband, Troy, all of Cumberland, MD; and her step grandchildren, 
Robert W. Lyons; Kelly M. Hedrick, both of Chambersburg, PA; and Mark 
J. Lyons, Glendale, PA; as well as 15 great grandchildren and one 
great-great grandchild.
  A memorial service will be conducted at the Wesleyan United Methodist 
Church in Tyrone, PA, on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at 1 p.m., with 
Reverend Gable officiating. 
  There will also be a memorial service at the Metropolitan A.M.E. 
Church in Cumberland, MD, on Friday, September 14, 2007, at 1 p.m., 
with Reverend Alfred Deas officiating.
