All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ JAMES EARL MILLER James Earl Miller, of 433 Fifth avenue, a Pennsy yard brakeman and member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, died at the Mercy hospital yesterday morning at 3 o'clock of the influenza, after an illness of four days. His wife is at this time confined to her bed with the same disease. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, a daughter, Thelma aged 7, and a son, Mervin, aged 3. He was the son of J. Garry and Mary C. Miller, of 1008 Tenth street, who survive with two sisters and a brother: Mrs. G. H. Schultz of Wilkinsburg; Miss Ida and G. Ashman Miller, at home. He was a well known railroader, being a fireman on the Middle division of the P.R.R. for a number of years. He had also served as a railroad policeman for several months. His wife's father, Mr. Updike, was killed in a railroad accident about ten years ago, while her mother resides at Tyrone. The funeral which will be strictly private, will take place from the residence of his parents at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be made in the family plot in Rose Hill cemetery.
