He was born in Germany of Aug. 1, 1853. He was a Catholic by faith. Surviving are the widow and seven children as follows: John F., on the U.S.S. Cattanooga [sic], James A. in the United States army at Panama, William, Alfred, Donald, Henry and Dorothy, all at home. The funeral will be held at the late home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. W. Winey having charge of the service. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
