At 8.20 o'clock yesterday morning Mrs. Mary E. Miller, wife of W. T. Miller, foreman of the Pennsylvania railroad wheel shop, died at her home, 1307 Sixth avenue, of pneumonia. She had been in poor health for several years, and was taken with the disease that caused her death last week. She was a daughter of David and Barbara Lewis, deceased, and was born August 18, 1840, at Valley Force, near Fort Louden, Franklin county. She came here with her parents in 1864 and for eleven years was a teacher in the city schools. She was married to W. T. Miller on May 25, 1879. Deceased was of a charitable, loving disposition and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. She joined the Methodist church while in her teens and at her death was a member and active worker of the Eighth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Merrian; also by one sister, Etta G. Lewis, and one brother, R. M. Lewis, both of this city. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon, services to be conducted at the house at 3 o'clock by her pastor, Rev. T. S. Wilcox; interment in Fairview cemetery.
