She Passed Away at the Family Home on Tenth Street Sunday Forenoon. Mrs. Mary M. Berlin, wife of Samuel Berlin, died at the family home, 19 West Tenth street, at 11 o'clock Sunday forenoon. She was aged 77 years, 9 months and 25 days. She had been in delicate health for many years, though robust in youth and a woman of unusually strong constitution. She had been critically ill the past two weeks. The maiden name of Mrs. Berlin was Mary M. Shane. She was born at Littlestown, Adams county, on the 5th of February, 1825. On the 10th of September, 1843, she was married to Samuel Berlin. On the 1st of December, 1853, Mr. and Mrs. Berlin came to Tyrone, and this has been their home since that time, just forty-nine years today. Mrs. Berlin was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and her name was one of the early ones entered upon the roll of the First M. E. church of Tyrone. Her life was an exemplary one and her Christianity of the purest and most reverent and devout character. Her home life was one of devotion to her husband and true friendship for others within the household. As a neighbor she was kind, helpful and always considerate. Of the deceased's direct and immediate family her husband is the only survivor. Other relatives are the brother of Mr. Berlin, Joseph Berlin and family of Johnstown; Mrs. L. B. Blair and John B. Guyer. Funeral services were conducted at the late home of the deceased at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, by Rev. John A. Wood Jr. Interment at Tyrone cemetery.
