"Mort" Miller, 68, of 828 Washington Ave., Tyrone died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at 12:27 a.m. in the emergency room of Tyrone Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1935 at Ironsville, RD 4 Tyrone, the son of the late George and Ethel Lear Miller. He was married on Nov. 21, 1977 to Rita Molchan who preceded him in death in 1983. He is survived by a son, Adam L. Miller; wife Jenny of Mount Union; four grandchildren, Brendan, Aronley, Parker and Karley, all at home; three brothers and four sisters, Donald R. Miller of Levittown, Martin W. and Daniel R. Miller, Georgette Umholtz, Darlene Wertz, Lois Russell and Twila Bowser, all of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel E. Frye. Mr. Miller was a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958 having been stationed in the Philippines. He had been employed as a locomotive engineer for the Pennsylvania, Penn Central and Conrail Railroads from 1960 until his retirement in 1999 after 39 years of service. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. Interment will be at Buena Vista Cemetery in Brodheadsville, Pa. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Tyrone Daily Herald, November 10, 2003
