She was born at Loysburg on November 1, 1906, and at the time of her death was aged 16 years, 8 months and 2 days. Besides her parents she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. E. C. Burket, of Woodbury; Howard, of Juniata; Samuel and Harry, at home. Miss Mock passed away on Saturday, July 22, at the Nason hospital, following an operation for appendicitis. Mary will be sadly missed in the home and in the Sunday school where she had a host of young friends who will learn with profound regret of her early demise. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family in the hour of their sorrow. A beautiful floral piece from the community was placed at her casket. She was a member of the Church of God at this place. The funeral services were conducted in the Church of God Tuesday afternoon, with interment in Dry Hill cemetery. "Dearest Mary, thou hast left us, Here thy loss we deeply feel, But 'tis God that hath bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal." --Waterside Correspondent Martinsburg Herald, July 28, 1922
