MOFFITT [photo] Aged Veteran of P.R.R. Dies Unexpectedly Andrew Watt Moffitt of 216 Tenth avenue, Juniata, died Sunday afternoon at 2:50 o'clock of a heart attack, Deputy Coroner Edgar G. Walls reported. He was a Pennsylvania railroad conductor and retired Sept. 1, 1923, after 44 years of service. Mr. Moffitt was born Aug. 24, 1858, and observed his 90th birthday last week. He was born at Massaysburg, Huntingdon county, the son of James G. and Marjorie (Watt) Moffitt. Mr. Moffitt was married to Jennie E. Lowe and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Feb. 18, 1936. His wife died May 3, 1942. Since her death, Mr. Moffitt had been living at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Charles W. Moffitt. Two sons also preceded him in death, Charles W. and Clair E. Surviving are four grandchildren, Andrew of Greensburg, Charles W. at home; Mrs. Martha Jane McDonald of Lynn, Mass., and Mary Elizabeth Moffitt, at home, and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Moffitt was the last member of his immediate family. Mr. Moffitt was a member of Trinity Lutheran church. Friends will be received at the home. Altoona Mirror, September 7, 1948
