Tuesday, May 29, 1945; 14. Charles Horner Moffitt, a veteran of the first World war and well known resident of the First ward, died at 3 o’clock this morning at his home, 1906 Eleventh street. He had been employed for the past two years as a welder in the Camden ship yard and came home ill two weeks ago. Deceased was born in Altoona Nov. 15, 1895, the son of Harry B. and Catherine (Horner) Moffitt. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Philadelphia and the American Legion. During his residence in the city he was active in the Rowan Legion post. He is survived by his mother, a sister, Mrs. Robert D. Steele, and a brother, Leonard C. Moffitt, both of Altoona.
