He was born in Massaburg, Huntingdon county, January 30, 1869, a son of Jackson and Catherine (Brost){sic-Borst} Moffitt. He is survived by his wife, Calnetta Prudence (Vanderender){sic-Vandevander} Moffitt, two daughters Mrs. Zella Kuhn at home and Mrs. B. F. Weber, Juniata; and one son, William, Altoona; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Edna Gilliland, Rock Springs. He was retired from the P.R.R. five years ago after forty-seven years' service. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Juniata, for many years, a member of the official board and of the Lamberson Bible class, of the Modern Woodman, P.R.R. relief and the Retired Men's association, Juniata. Friends may call at the family home.
