Herman C. Moffitt of 1533 2nd St., died at 6:45 p.m. yesterday, June 24, 1973, 
in Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted June 12, after an extended 
illness.  Mr. Moffitt retired in 1960 from the PRR.  He was born March 3, 
1897, in Bellwood, a son of Charles and Catherine Moffitt, and was twice 
married, first to Olive Biddle of Bellwood, who preceded him death, then to 
Eva Showalter of Altoona, who preceded him in death.  Surviving are four 
children, H. Clint of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Pauline Nassif and Mrs. Bonnie 
Decker of Altoona and Mrs. Maxine Long of Somerset; 11 grandchildren, four 
great grandchildren and five brothers and sisters, Harold of Bellwood, Charles 
and Mrs. Hazel Evans in Florida, Mrs. Mary Santman in Texas and Mrs. Catherine 
Pfitzer in California.  Mr. Moffitt was a member of the Fourth Street Church 
of God.  He was a Navy veteran of World War I.   Friends will be received in 
the Axe Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
