W. Fox, Thursday evening at 10 o'clock, death following a two weeks' illness from diseases incident to old age. Had he lived until April 28, he would have been 87 years of age. Mr. Mohr was born in Hesse, Germany, the son of John and Catharine Young Mohr, both deceased. He came to America in 1852 and settled at York but soon afterwards came to Blair county where he has resided ever since, following the trade of stone mason and cooper. In 1856 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Pote of Bakers Summit. She died nineteen years ago. Six children were born to this union, four of whom survive, John H. Mohr of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Biddle and Mrs. Sarah Catharine Fox, both of Roaring Spring, and Mrs. Emma Brumbaugh of Defiance, Bedford county. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, being confirmed in that faith in Germany at the age of 13. After becoming a resident of Roaring Spring, he affiliated with the St. Luke Lutheran church. When Mr. Mohr came to America, he came alone but his parents came two years later and located in Hollidaysburg. Friends are requested to omit flowers. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
