After being an inmate for but one week of the Hahnemann hospital of Philadelphia, James Henry Moore, for many years a familiar figure about town, died at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, from diabetes which followed a general breakdown. "Jimmy," as he was familiarly known by his many friends, had been on the decline for some time past but continued at his regular work until about two weeks ago, when he was compelled to seek heroic treatment. At one time he worked at the local car shops and later at the paper mill but for the past thirteen years he was employed at the F. J. Mowry cafe on Pennsylvania avenue. He was born at Harrisburg, February 21, 1880, and came here in 1894. He was married in 1901 to Miss Gertrude Stauffer, who died July 14, 1911. He leaves three children - Florence, Edgar and Robert - who, with their father, had been making their home with a cousin, Mrs. J. C. D'Arment, of Riverside avenue, Tyrone. Deceased was a member of Sinking Spring lodge No. 127, Knights of Pythias; Blazing Arrow tribe No. 460, I.O.R.M., and of the Knights of Khorassan. He was a member of the New Century club, one of the town's well known social organizations for young men. The remains will arrive in town today. Funeral services will be held from the D'Arment home, the time of which will be announced later. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, December 2, 1916
