MOORE Died at his home, 2108 Eighth avenue, at 12:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon, of a complication of diseases. Since June last he had been seriously ill with dropsy and diabetes. The deceased was born in Summerhill township, near Wilmore, Cambria county, December 19, 1845. For thirty years he had been a resident of Altoona, twenty-four of which he pursued his avocation of a locomotive engineer on the Pittsburg division, along which he was well and favorably known. During his term of service in the capacity of an engineer he had run both local and through freight engines. About six weeks ago he was retired from service with pay, prior to which time he manned an eastern slop helping engine. Mr. Moore was married in Altoona twenty-five years ago to Miss Alice Fox, of Tyrone, who, with the following children, survives: Charles, of Tyrone; Carrie and John at home; also one brother, Elijah, of Roanoke, and one half brother, Rev. John Williams, of Beaver Spring, Snyder county. Deceased was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Knights of Malta, Odd Fellows, P.R.R. Relief, P.R.R. Y.M.C.A. and of the Simpson Methodist church. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the house; interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, October 16, 1898
