George Washington Moorhead, employed by the Pennsy as a boss at the Seventh street stables and a resident of this city for over twenty-five years, died at the Altoona hospital last evening at 5:28 o'clock, from uremia. He had been admitted to the institution yesterday at noon and sank steadily until the hour of his demise. Born in Bedford county May 5, 1861, he was the son of Matthew and Catherine Morehead, and for many years made his home at 308 Lexington avenue. He came to Altoona twenty-five years ago, shortly after coming here accepting a position with the company as a general helper in the Fourth street shops. Later he was made a stable boss, which position he held for a number of years. He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, as follows: William Moorhead, of Galesburg, Ill.; Abraham, of Bedford county; J. S., of Altoona, and Mrs. Bell Weyandt, of Bedford county, and Mrs. Emma Walters, of Fort Clinton, O. Deceased was a member of Trinity Reformed church and of the Pennsy Relief association.
