Yesterday morning a man giving his name as Reuben Morgan was found dead in bed in his room at McIntosh's boarding house, corner of Tenth avenue and Fourteenth street. On Wednesday night the man was sitting at the Globe Hotel. He was not drunk, but looked as though he had just come off a spree. A friend, a man well known in this city and of good character, was with him. About 4 o'clock in the morning his friend tried to get him home but Morgan replied that it was too early and he could not get in the house. After further solicitation he went to bed at the Globe Hotel, his friend staying with him. Later in the day he arose and paid his bill. He then went before the Mayor and complained that he had been drugged and robbed. But in this he was evidently mistaken, as no one was with him but his friend. The clerk of the hotel said that he had very little money and that he could not have been robbed. The fellow went home an on Thursday night went to bed at his boarding place. Yesterday the members of the household were surprised to find the man dead in bed. He had died during the night, probably from the effects of a prolonged spree. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, September 25, 1880 CITY AND COUNTRY. Things Briefly Told. Reuben Morgan, who died under peculiar circumstances in this city last week, was buried on Saturday. It appears that he had a physician toward the close of his life who knew he was dying.
