She was born October 15, 1935 in Tyrone, a daughter of Vincent G. O'Rourke who died November 11, 1985 and Dorothy Holt. She was married to Frederick H. Morman who died August 28, 1966. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Holt O'Rourke of Tyrone and four brothers: Terence J. O'Rourke (June) of Santa Barbara, Ca.; V. Michael O'Rourke (Kathleen) of Columbia, Md.; Edward C. O'Rourke (Julia) of Princeton, N. J. and Timothy G. O'Rourke (Judy) of Quantico, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband, father and a sister, Corrine O'Rourke. She was a member of the Tyrone First Presbyterian Church where she was very active. She was ordained as an Elder in 1998 and served on the Church Session. She was the Session representative to the Huntingdon Presbytery and was a Session Minute inspector for the Presbytery. Other church activities were Presbyterian Women, preparing food for church meals for shut-ins, the former Baldrige S.S. Class, Cashier for church events, Mariners and coordinator of the Red Cross Blood Drives. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1953 and graduated September 29, 1957 from Altoona School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Tyrone Historical Society and volunteered at the Tyrone Food Bank. She retired in 1985 from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Col. after 24 years as a medical-surgical nurse with tours in Japan, Germany and Ft. Knox, Ky. She received the Army Meritorious Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. After her retirement, she moved back to Tyrone and worked at the Tyrone Hospital for a short time. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Tyrone First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Dunkelbereger officiating. Interment and Flag Presentation Service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Snyder Township. Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Gen Fund, 102 W. 13th St., Tyrone or to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E.
