HELEN WOOD MORRIS Of 1515 Twenty-second avenue, wife of Lieutenant Colonel Lloyd M. Morris of Camp Lee, Va., died at 12.15 this morning at the Altoona hospital where she had been a patient for the past three months. She was born at Rogersville, Greene county, on Oct. 26, 1894, a daughter of Ezra and Agnes Wood, and married Mr. Morris at Pittsburgh on Sept. 7, 1921. Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers college and taught in the Pittsburgh area prior to her marriage. From 1921 until 1924, Mr. and Mrs. Morris resided at State College where Mr. Morris was a professor in the engineering school, coming to Altoona then as a test engineer at the railroad test department building. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion auxiliary of Charles R. Rowan post, No. 228. Surviving are her husband, her mother and a niece, Miss Louise Wood, both of whom reside at the Morris home, and two brothers, Gail and Floren Wood, both of Greene county. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. MORRIS - Brief funeral services for Mrs. Helen (Wood) Morris will be conducted Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock at the home, 1515 Twenty- second avenue, in charge of Rev. Walter L. Ritter. Private interment will be made Thursday at Rogersville, Pa. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, June 15, 1943
