Death of an Esteemed Citizen of Altoona Thursday Night. Mr. E. L. Morse, for many years a resident of this city, died at half-past 11 o'clock on Thursday night at the residence of Mrs. Annie Miller, Second street between Third and Fourth avenues, at whose home he boarded. His illness extended over a period of six years, and his death was the result of a complication of diseases. He was not forced to take to his bed until Sunday last and from that time till his death he sank gradually and never regained consciousness. Mr. Morse was born July 27, 1927, in the town of Champlain, Franklin county, N.Y., and came to this city June 16, 1871, and in the next year he married Mrs. Harriet C. Yuelly, who survives him. He was employed in the company's shops, working at the machinist's trade for a number of years. Deceased was a consistent member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church of this city since its organization, and he had been a member of that denomination for over forty years. He was also a member of Verandah lodge No. 532, Independent Order of Odd Fellow, the members of which society having taken care of him through all his sickness.
