Mountain, aged 59, of 728 East Crawford avenue, well known Altoona yard brakeman, died suddenly at 1:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Mountain had been in ill health for the past several years suffering from a heart condition and had not worked for the past five months. He went to Williamsport yesterday morning with a neighbor, W. V. Briggs, and was returning to the railroad station from a physician's office when the fatal attack occurred. He was born in the Loop, Frankstown township, on Nov. 26 1874, a son of Asbury and Abbie (Wertz) Mountain, and was united in marriage with Miss Mary McMillan of Sinking Valley. He entered the railroad service as a yard brakeman in 1902 and had been continuously employed in that capacity, residing in this city for the past thirty-five years. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Paul Mountain of Orville, O., Gilbert Neff Mountain and Ross Mountain, both of the city, and one sister, Miss Jennie Mountain of Frankstown township. Mr. Mountain attended the Juniata Presbyterian church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Switchmen, the I.O.O.F., P.O.S. of A., Moose and Yard association. The body may be viewed at the home where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Geeseytown cemetery.
