MURPHY Of 1121 Fourth avenue, Juniata, a retired machinist of the Altoona works, died at 6.10 o'clock last evening at the Altoona hospital after three weeks' illness. He was born on Jan. 12, 1877, at Huntingdon, a son of Elwood and Elizabeth (Steward) Murphy, and retired from the railroad company service in January, 1940, after thirty-eight years' service. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret (Moore) Murphy; two sons and three daughters, Chamler [sic] and Frederick Murphy of Lakemont, Mrs. Edna Stahl of Juniata, Mrs. Esther Kelly and Mrs. Laura Miller, both of the city; fifteen grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Laura Koontz of the city. Mr. Murphy was of the Methodist faith. Friends are being received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary. MURPHY - Funeral services for William F. Murphy of 1121 Fourth avenue, Juniata, will be held at 2.30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Stevens Memorial chapel by Rev. L. D. Wible. Interment in Grandview cemetery.
