On Tuesday morning, the 28th inst., at 8 o'clock, Mrs. Margaret Musselman died at the home of Mr. George Hostler. The subject of this sketch was born on the farm row owned by Mr. George Bridenbaugh about the year 1811, and was consequently 79 years old. The exact age is not known, as no records seem to have been kept. She spent her whole life in this valley. In 1831 she married Martin Musselman, whose death preceded hers about thirty-five years. She was the mother of eleven children, six of whom are still living - Harry and Daniel, of Altoona, and Abraham, of Blair Furnace; Mrs. George Hostler and Mrs. Joseph Webb, of this valley, and Mrs. Confer, of Frankstown. While this old lady has several times been apparently near death's door, she has been reasonably well this summer. For about a week she had been complaining but not sufficient to cause any alarm. The day before she died she was out in the yard. Her last night on earth, though, was one of great suffering and soon in the morning the brittle thread was severed. From early life she had been a member of the Reformed church. The funeral takes place on Thursday at 10 o'clock. Rev. Hileman will conduct the services. Interment in the Reformed cemetery, below Arch Spring. This old lady was one of the oldest persons in the valley. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, October 30, 1890
