All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Mrs. Catharine Myers At 12.25 O'clock Sunday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Catharine Myers, at the home of her brother, David Branstetter, on Main street, from a stroke of paralysis. She retired in her usual health on Saturday evening, but about eleven o'clock, Mr. Branstetter heard moans and heavy breathing issuing from the bed chamber of his sister and on going in to ascertain the cause, found her unable to get to bed. He assisted her and wanted to dispatch for a doctor but she insisted that there was no use and shortly after, at the time mentioned above she breathed her last. The deceased was born on her father's farm in Dauphin county, sixteen miles east of Harrisburg, January 24, 1811 being therefore at time of demise, 81 years and 6 days of age. From 1838 up until several years ago her home was in Warriorsmark Valley. She was a conscientious christian all through life, a loving wife, tender mother and true friend. He many friends will indeed grieve for her presence among them. To mourn their loss she leaves two sons, Henry Myers , of this place and Jerry Ike, of Altoona: also one brother and four sisters, who are David and Rosanna Branstetter, of this place: Mrs. Susan Mingle, of Tyrone; Mrs. Mary Cupp of Centre Line, and Mrs. Martha Eyer, of Warriorsmark Valley. The funeral services were held in the United Brethren church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock being conducted by her pastor Rev. C. W. Wasson. Interment followed in Tyrone cemetery.
