DORA MYERS, An aged lady well known in this city, died of heart failure at the Blair county almshouse at 1 o'clock this morning. She was born in Germany, and was aged about 70 years. Mrs. Myers had been a resident of Altoona for many years. Her husband died about ten years ago and since then she had made her living at the washboard. About two years ago she was admitted to the county almshouse, being no longer able to work. She at one time owned a property in this city, but she did not own the land on which it was built, and was euchred* out of the home. She had a little money, and when she went to the poorhouse, left her affairs in the hands of Mr. J. P. Lafferty. She made Mr. Lafferty promise that when she died he would give her a respectable burial, and that her body would not be interred in the county poor farm. Mr. Lafferty will carry out the wishes of the deceased. The remains will be brought to his undertaking room where services will be conducted tomorrow evening by Rev. Roth, of the First Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member. The interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
