Jacob Myers, one of the oldest residents of Altoona, died at his residence, 917 Seventeenth street, at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, of pneumonia, after a brief illness, which began on Monday last. He had attained the venerable age of 77 years, and is survived by his wife and three sons, Levi, J. D. H. and David H., all of this city, the latter a member of the TRIBUNE reportorial force. The deceased was a veteran of the war for the union and was a member of Stephen C. Potts post No. 62, Grand Army of the Republic. He was likewise a faithful and consistent member of the First United Brethren church, an earnest, Christian gentleman. Altoona Tribune, Thursday, February 16, 1899
