LULU MYERS DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS Mrs. Lulu Claretta Myers, Juniata, died at her home at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 20, 1874 at Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Simon and Elizabeth Merriman Nearhoof. Her husband, James W. Myers, died Jan. 14, 1950. Surviving are two nieces reared in the home, Mrs. W. R. Halfpenny and Mrs. M. T. Cunningham, Juniata, a grandniece, Linda Cunningham; one sister and one brother, Mrs. A. M. Palmer and Abner Nearhoof, Tyrone, also a niece, Mrs. Clark C. Ginter, Tyrone. Mrs. Myers was an active member of the First Methodist Church, Juniata, of the Progressive Bible Class and the W.S.C.S. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church, Juniata, with the Rev. John T. Stamm and the Rev. E. A. Henry officiating. Burial will be in Grandview cemetery, Tyrone. Friends will be received at the home until 11 a.m. tomorrow and thereafter at the church. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., Friday, December 26, 1952
