Nardelli, 80, 229 Walton Ave., died Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born Feb 20, 1919 in Altoona, the son of the late Alfred and Isabella (Astore) Nardelli. He married Margaret Aveni May 6, 1946. Mr. Nardelli was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. He retired as a car inspector from Conrail in 1979, after 38 years of service, and was self employed as a barber. Mr. Nardelli was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School. He was an army veteran of World War II, servicing as a private first class in Detachment 503, 3rd Reinforcement Depot. He was awarded two Bronze Stars. Mr. Nardelli enjoyed gardening and sports. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Barvarian Club, Abruzzese Society, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Isabelle V. of Pittsburgh; two sons: Mark A. of West Bloomfield, Mich., and James Jr. of Altoona; a sister, Cecelia Serventi of Pittsburgh; a half sister, Josephine Incitti of Tom's River, N.J.; two brothers: Joseph of Altoona and Michael of Newry; and three grandsons. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Santella Funeral Home. NARDELLI - A funeral Mass for James V. Nardelli of 229 Walton Ave. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery where a vigil for the deceased will be held this afternoon. Survived by three grandsons; Nicholas, Alex and Nathaniel. Preceded in death by two brothers: Louis and John.
