Narehood, 64, of 51 Craig St., Tipton, president of Narehood Bros. Inc., Tyrone, and H and R Amesite Inc., Blossburg, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning at his home. He was born in Bannerville on Jan. 23, 1913, the son of Foster I. and Mazie Heeter Narehood. He attended school in McClure and graduated with the class of 1932. He moved from Snyder County to Milton in 1931 and married the former Neta A. Hein in McClure, on Dec. 25, 1934. They resided in the Milton area from 1934 until 1969, when they moved to Tipton. They recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. When Harold Narehood was 15 years old, he started in the trucking and road building business with his father. In 1932, the Narehood family founded the Narehood Brothers Limestone Quarry at Limestonevi11e. The Limestoneville Quarry was sold in 1956. In 1959, Narehood Brothers began a second quarry operation in Tyrone. At the time of his death, Harold Narehood was president of this corporation and of H and R Amesite, Inc., Blossburg, which began operation in 1955. He was a member of Milton Lodge 256 Free and Accepted Masons, the Royal Arch Chapter of Milton, the Mount Herndon Commandery of Sunbury, the Williamsport Consistory, 32nd degree, Valler Champ Council 25, of Sunbury, the Danville Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce. He had served on the Board of Directors of the Tyrone Hospital and was a past member of the Tyrone Rotary Club. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Stone Producers Association. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters, Randall Narehood, of Tyrone, Mrs. Nancy Wylie of West Chester, and Mrs. Sue Chapin, of Ramsey, New Jersey; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and four sisters: Mrs. Ruth Fleming and Mrs. Pearl Marr, both of Milton RD, Mrs. Isabella Acor, of Milton, and Mrs. Faylene Ellis, of Watsontown. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, Milton. Interment will be at Harmony Cemetery, Milton. Friends will be received this evening at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. The family has requested that a Youth Fund be established at the Follmer Lutheran Church, Milton RD 2, as a tribute to Harold Narehood because of "his dedication to his family and his belief that the church is a strong foundation for family life."
