Lykens of Newry received word of the death of her brother, B. Frank Nepper, at Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Nepper had recently underwent an operation from which he did not recover. Mr. Nepper was born in Clappertown on Aug. 30, 1853. He married Miss Susan Eyer of Martinsburg In 1878. During that year Mr. and Mrs. Nepper went to Nebraska where they settled at Syracuse, later going to Iowa. Thirty two years ago they went to Mapletown; Calif., where they purchased a farm and lived until 1907 when they retired. Mrs. Nepper preceded her husband in death several years ago. He is survived by seven children, eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all in the west, and the following brothers and sisters in Pennsylvania and Ohio: Alexander of Tyrone, Earnest of Conemaugh, Joseph of Altoona, Edward of Ohio, Mrs. A. M. Lykens of Newry, Mrs. Venie Isenberg of Williamsburg, Mrs. Calvin Wertz of Altoona, Mrs. Levi Brumbaugh of Huntingdon bounty and Mrs. Fannie Mosel of Hollidaysburg. Mr. Nepper loved to travel and made many friends. Part of the summer of 1930 he spent visiting friends and relatives in Blair county. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 27, 1931, p. 22 B. F. Nepper Funeral On Sunday Afternoon Funeral services for B. F. Nepper, 77 years old, who died in a Long Beach, Cal., hospital February 3, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church in Mapleton. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Mr. Nepper's body will arrive Friday morning and will be at the home of his son, S. A. Nepper, until the funeral. Two daughters, Mrs. Paul Boothby of Long Beach and Mrs. W. L. Harris of Los Angeles, are accompanying the body to Mapleton. [Iowa newspaper clipping] Funeral Sunday For B. F. Nepper, Pioneer Funeral services for B. F. Nepper, 77 years old, pioneer farmer who died recently in Long Beach, Cal., following an operation, were held Sunday in the Methodist church with Rev. G. W. Dunn of Ida Grove officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery under the direction of the Duschi Funeral home. Mr. Nepper was born in Clappertown, Penn., August 30, 1853. He married Miss Susan Eyer at Martinsburg, Pa., February 21, 1878. During the year 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Nepper came west, settling at Syracuse, Neb. In the spring of 1880 they came to Charter Oak, Ia., where they resided until 32 years ago when them moved to Mapleton. They purchased the Maple View farm west of Mapleton and resided there until 1907 when they gave up farming. Mrs. Nepper preceded her husband in death several years ago. For the last several years Mr. Nepper has spent the winters in California, returning here to spend the summers. Mr. Nepper was a great lover of his home and well known for his finial disposition. He loved to travel and made many friends wherever he went. He is survived by 7 children, Mrs. Ida Harris of Los Angeles, Mrs. Daisy Spencer of Crofton, Neb., Mrs. Mabel Boothby of Long Beach, Charles of Ute, Bert of Danbury and Arch and Clyde of Mapleton. He also is survived by 4 brothers and 5 sisters who live in Pennsylvania and 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
