The deceased was born in Reading, Pa., and was aged 81 years. He came to Blair county when quite young and had lived in the vicinity of Clappertown all the balance of his life. For a time he was employed by the Cambria Iron company, but most of his life was spent in farming. He was always industrious and well-to-do. He will be especially missed by the Methodist Episcopal congregation at Royer, of which church he had long been a faithful member. He was married to Miss Hannah McCarl of Huntingdon county, who survives him with the following twelve children: Mrs. Frederick Mosel, Mrs. Lavinia Isenberg and Alexander Nepper of Williamsburg, Mrs. S. C. Wertz and Mrs. Jesse Davis of Altoona, Mrs. A. M. Lykens of Newry, Mrs. Levi Brumbaugh of Foxton, Huntingdon county, Mrs. William Treese of Clappertown, Ernest of Youngwood, Ohio, Edward of Steubenville, Ohio, Frank of Charter Oak, Iowa, Joseph of Los Angeles, Cal. Forty-four grandchildren and twenty-eight great- grandchildren also survive. The first death in this large family was five years ago, when a son, Hartley, was killed on the railroad. The funeral services were held at his late home at 10 o'clock this morning, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. G. Steel of Williamsburg. Interment was made in the Mountain cemetery at Royer.
