Nevling, 76, of Grazierville, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Altoona Regional Health System-Altoona Hospital Campus. Born March 2, 1930, in Port Matilda, Mr. Nevling was the son of Lawrence B. and Marie (Cowher) Nevling. He was united in marriage to Donna L. Grazier on Dec. 3, 1953 at the Grazierville United Methodist Church. Mr. Nevling is survived by his wife; daughter Judy Eaken and husband George Jr., Grazierville; five grandchildren, Tonia Nevling-Ray and husband Mike, Tighe Eaken and wife Amber, Kirstin Eaken, and Tarin and Tiffany Nevling; 5 great-grandsons, Corbin and Braeden Nevling-Ray, Maesen Eaken, Tighe Eaken Jr., Landen Nevling-DeHaas; great- granddaughter Alayna Greene; three sisters Jane Walk, Julian; Ruby Woodring, Port Matilda; Leah Smith, Northwood; and brother Alton Nevling, Bellefonte. He was preceded in death by son Jack and brother Raymond. Mr. Nevling was a member of Grazierville United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Korean veteran serving as Private First Class, and he enjoyed his children and grandchildren, and was an avid hunter. Mr. Nevling retired in 1992 as an independent contractor working for various construction companies in the area. He was previously employed at Westvaco and the Port Matilda Brickyard. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with the Rev. Michelle Somerville and the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Internment with veterans' honors accorded by the Bellefonte VFW Post No. 1600 will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Taylor Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grazierville United Methodist Church, c/o Judy Ray, RR4, Box 189, Tyrone.
