The girl had a stroke of paralysis about four weeks ago, which deprived her of the use of her right arm. She has not been well since, but last evening seemed better and accompanied her aunt to the Rescue mission. She came home and went to bed as usual. During the night Mr. Nash heard her moaning and wakened her. On being asked as to the cause of her moaning, she simply replied that she had been dreaming and went to sleep again. On rising at 5 o'clock this morning to go to work, Mr. Nash again visited her room and found her sleeping peacefully by the side of a daughter of his. At 6:45 Mrs. Nash called the little girl, who slept with Annie, and told her to waken Annie. The little one said that she could not, which alarmed Mrs. Nash and she went to the room, where she found her niece dead though her body was yet warm. She called her husband and he reported the case to Coroner Poet, who proceeded to the house, accompanied by a Mirror representative, and found the facts as Mr. Nash had stated. After considering all the attendant circumstances, Mr. Poet thought an inquest necessary and empanelled a jury. They viewed the remains at 10:15, and took the testimony of Mr. and Mrs. Nash and Drs. Feltwell and Weaver. When all had been heard they repaired to the office of W. H. Stevens, where a verdict that the death of the deceased was the result of paralysis caused by a specific disease, was tendered. Miss Nicholl was 18 years of age on January 8 last, and has a sister and grandmother living here besides her uncle and aunt.
