Noel, aged 80 years, a veteran of the civil war, was found dead at noon Sunday, in his shanty along the mountain near Reese's, in Frankstown township. The deceased was last seen alive on Saturday afternoon when he was hunting a bee tree with a neighbor. It is presumed that he fell over dead as he was discovered lying on his back in the shanty with his feet extending out the door. He was probably sitting in the door smoking when stricken as his pipe was found on his breast. He is survived by his wife Ellen, who resides with a son at Bennington, also three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Joseph Blackstone, of Reese's station; Mrs. Frank Gibson, of Gallitzin; Mrs. Harry Taylor, of Bennington; John T. Noel, of Tyrone; Alexander Noel, of Bennington, and David Noel, of Frankstown township. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., July 20, 1905, page 5
