She had been ill but five days, although having been in poor health for the past ten years, being a sufferer from asthma and heart trouble. Mrs. Noffsker was a daughter of Joseph and Mary Stiffler, deceased, and was born in West Loop, Frankstown township, December 25, 1838. She grew to womanhood there, and on August 25, 1859, was married to Mr. Noffsker at Newry by Rev. Joseph Fichner. Her husband was a school teacher in his earlier days and for some time they resided at East Freedom, later taking up their abode at Canoe Creek. In 1877 they became residents of this city, Mr. Noffsker being engaged in the general contracting business, in partnership with Thomas Bushman, under the firm name of Bushman & Noffsker. In 1892 he sold his interests in the planing mill and moved to Oshkosh, Wis., going from there some years later, to Cedar Rapids, Ia., at which place Mr. Noffsker died in 1901. Mrs. Noffsker then returned to Pennsylvania and after a short residence at Canoe Creek moved to Roaring Spring, where she has since resided. She is survived by three children: Joseph F., of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; Mrs. Alice Burleigh and John M., both of Roaring Spring. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
