NOKES [photo] Hollidaysburg Resident Dies After Illness Mrs. Dollie McIntire Nokes, a lifelong resident of Hollidaysburg, died at her home at 217 Newry street at 4.45 o'clock this morning after an illness of six weeks. Dollie May McIntyre, only daughter of John and Mary Jane (Helsel) McIntire, was born in Hollidaysburg May 5, 1874, and was married to Gilbert Lloyd Nokes, April 27, 1898, in the Methodist parsonage by Rev. E. E. Deaver. With the exception of two years' residence in Johnstown, she and her husband had lived in the home where Mr. Nokes was born the entire period of their married life. The occasion of their 50th anniversary in 1948 was marked by family dinners given by two of their children. Mrs. Nokes was a lifelong member of the Hollidaysburg Methodist church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Nokes Lang of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Dorothy Nokes Hair of Roaring Spring; one son, Dr. John McIntire Nokes of Charlottesville, Va.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. One daughter, Mary Evelyn Nokes, preceded her in death. Friends will be received at the Creamer & Plank funeral home, Hollidaysburg, after 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
