HOWARD E. NOKES

A native of Hollidaysburg, died suddenly last Friday night at his home at 2314 
Forestdale avenue, Cleveland, O., aged 74 years.  He suffered a heart attack.  
At the age of 14 years he entered the Cambria Iron company employ at Johnstown 
and then was transferred to the Corrigan-McKinney Steel company plant at 
Cleveland, retiring four years ago at the age of 70.  Mr. Nokes is survived by 
two daughters, Misses Katharine and Helen Nokes, at home; and five sons, Ralph, 
Harry and Horace of Cleveland, and Tom and Joseph of Johnstown.  His wife died 
two years ago.  He is also survived by two brothers, Gilbert and Charles Nokes 
of Hollidaysburg, who left Saturday morning for Cleveland.  Burial was made 
this afternoon in the Presbyterian cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
