Mrs. Joseph Frick, of 1312 Twelfth avenue, received word this morning of the death of her father, Mr. Matthew O'Connell, which occurred at his home, in Dublin, Ireland. The deceased was aged about 74 years. Besides Mrs. Frick, he leaves another daughter, Mrs. Mary Walker, of this city, and two sons, Thomas, at home, and Daniel, of California. Although Mr. O'Connell's demise occurred about eight months ago, this was the first news received of it by his daughters in this city. His son, in California, was notified, and started at once for Ireland. Before starting, he wrote a letter to his sister, Mrs. Frick, but forgot to post it. He did not discover this until he returned to California, a week or so ago, when he found the letter in the bible. He then at once notified his sisters in this city of their father's death.
