On Thursday afternoon he complained of being sick, left work and went to Dr. Boyer's office on Eighth avenue near Seventeenth street, where he procured some medicine. He started for home but only got as far as his daughter's when he was forced to give up. In the evening he said he had taken too much morphine. He spent Thursday night setting on a chair where he remained until 10 o'clock yesterday morning, when he was laid on a sofa. He did not speak afterward. Dr. J. W. Rowe was sent for. He came and left some medicine but considered the man's case hopeless. The deceased was born at Beaver Dam, April 30, 1834. He came to this city twelve years ago. On March 4, 1871, he married Mary Ann Keith, who survives him, together with five children, as follows: Mrs. James Cowan of McConnellsburg, Fulton county; Mrs. Jessie Johnson and Mrs. Joshua Baird of Altoona; Thomas M. O'Donnell of Kittanning Point and William A. O'Donnell at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas M., of this city, and Charles of Milwaukee, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Parker of Shirleysburg, Huntingdon county. Mr. O'Donnell was a veteran of the late war, having served in Company B, Thirteenth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was a member of Post 62, G.A.R., the Simpson Methodist church and the Pennsylvania railroad relief.
