OLEWINE Of 304 Coleridge avenue, died at his home at 4.45 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an extended illness. His wife, Mrs. Effa Mae (Stiffler) Olewine, died March 12. He was born in Selinsgrove April 8, 1878, the son of Rev. John W. and Lucy Jane (Rhoades) Olewine. Surviving are one son, William Olewine, one granddaughter, Miss Ardith Olewine, both of Altoona, and one nephew, Lloyd R. Olewine of Lakemont. He was a retired machinist of the Pennsylvania railroad. Mr. Olewine was a member of Logan lodge, Knights of Pythias; a charter member of the Llyswen Methodist church and the Men's Bible class of the church. Friends will be received at the Axe funeral home from 7 o'clock this evening until 11 a.m. Thursday and thereafter at the Llyswen Methodist church. Altoona Mirror, March 28, 1950
