ORR Mother of Sheriff William Orr Dead In Altoona Mrs. Harriet E. Orr, widow of ex-Sheriff John Orr, mother of Sheriff William H. Orr, and a highly esteemed and respected resident of the Eighth ward, died at her home, 313 Fourth avenue, at 2:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon of Bright's disease. She had been in failing health for several months but was able to be up and about her home. She was taken suddenly ill at 11 o'clock Thursday night and continued to grow worse until she passed away surrounded by members of her family. Mrs. Orr was the daughter of John and Eleanor Keith, deceased, was born at Arch Springs, Blair county, on Jan. 17, 1853, and went to Altoona with her parents when a small girl. She was united in marriage to John Orr in February, 1870, and took up housekeeping in the block in which she had since resided. She was a member of Christ Second Lutheran church, having affiliated with that congregation on coming to Altoona. She was for many years active in church work, took an interest in all affairs ____ ____ for the advancement of Christianity and the church. She was held in the highest esteem by the members of the congregation and in the community in which she had lived for so many years because of her lovable and charitable disposition. Her husband, Sheriff John Orr, preceded her in death some years ago and she is survived by three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Kipple, wife of Andrew Kipple, Jr.; Mrs. Jessie Strunk, wife of H. H. Strunk; Mrs. Jennie Kieffer, wife of Clarence Kieffer; Sheriff William H. Orr, Clyde K. Orr and John Orr, all of Altoona; also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jennie Haberacker, Mrs. S. K. Orr and Andrew Keith, all of Altoona. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon, services to be conducted at the house at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery.
