RECENT DEATHS.

  Mrs. Catharine Osborne, the beloved wife of Professor W. W. Osborne, 
died of paralysis at the family residence, No. 35 Sixth avenue, at 7 
o'clock yesterday morning.  For many years the deceased had been a 
sufferer, and she bore her ailments with a Christian fortitude which 
comes from that feeling of security in the blessedness of the hereafter 
to those who serve the Master.  During her illness she received the 
most careful and loving attendance from the members of her family, and 
these while serving for the loved ones gone have the assurance that 
they did their duty.  Mrs. Osborne was 57 years of age and leaves, 
besides her husband, three children - two daughters and one son.  She 
was a faithful and consistent member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist 
Episcopal church.  The funeral services will be held at her late 
residence Thursday afternoon at half past 3 o'clock.  The interment 
will follow in Fairview cemetery.
