Oschea, 82, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at VanZandt VA Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1921, in Altoona, son of the late William J. and Alma (Boyd) [Boley] Oschea. He married Erma Jean Patton. She died Nov. 28, 1875. Mr. Oschea retired as a machinist from Penn Central Railroad in 1981 after many years of service. During World War II, he served in the Army infantry in the European African-Middle Eastern Theater and participated in battle campaigns in Sicily, Naples and Southern France, where he received six Bronze Stars. He was a baseball coach in Teener Major Baseball for many years. Surviving are two sons: Carl Oschea and wife, Grace, of Duncansville, and Patrick of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Barbara Hench and husband, Tim, of Sinking Valley; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael T. Oschea in 1981; and a brother, Thomas Oschea in 2003. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 31, 2003, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
