Mrs. Osterloh, wife of A. F. Osterloh, esq., died on Friday, the 6th inst., at 11.30 p.m. A good and noble woman and patient sufferer has gone to her rest. Her death was not unexpected. About six years ago she received a severe attack of paralysis from which she never fully recovered, and she has been an invalid ever since. Her disease culminated in softening of the brain, one of the most dreaded of all maladies. Toward the last she passed through terrible sufferings, to witness which was intensely painful to her husband and the dear friends who were near her. She was unconscious for five days prior to her death. Mrs. Osterloh was born in the city of Lancaster in the year 1811, where she was reared and educated, having graduated from the Female seminary at Liti[t]z. She was married to Mr. A. F. Osterloh by Rev. Baker, of the Lutheran church, at Lancaster, in 1832. The fruits of this marriage were six children three of whom, Charles, William and Annie, are dead. Those who survive are Major John C. Osterloh and Mrs. Mary Mitchell both residents of Philadelphia, and Miss Louisa who resides at home. The deceased was a warm hearted and affectionate woman, a devoted wife and a fond mother. She united with the Evangelical Lutheran church of Lancaster when at an early age, and has always lived an upright ment.
